Fooducate

The other day at work, a colleague saw me grab a yogurt from the fridge and excitedly said "Ooh! Ooh! Let me fooducate you." We're all like wtf? She pulled out her phone, and snapped a picture of the bar code. Within a minute, it came up with a grade for that particular yogurt based on the nutrients, and some pros and cons about it.

I absolute had to have it.

This is a must have app for your smartphone. And I'm not just saying this. Yes, it takes a little extra time, especially if you're at the grocery store, but as you use it more and more, you start learning about the different functions and what foods you can substitute to be even healthier than you already are.

This app is really easy to use, and very quick (depending on your data connection of course). As you can see by the time on these screenshots, I scanned all 4 of these products within 2 minutes. Not bad at all, eh?  So it gives you a grade, gives you the calories, tells you why its good or bad for you, and even gives you the opportunity to look at better alternatives.

It also keeps track of all of your scans, has a blog with tips on how to be healthier, and gives you the opportunity to win prizes, such as gift cards!

And I promise this is an unbiased, unpaid review (I wish I was paid!).  I just happened to find out about it a few days ago, and I can't wait to continue using it :) Fooducate yourself! Its just one step closer to a healthier you.  (God bless smartphones).
